Marmaris day trip with shopping and free time

4/5
373 reviews

Venturing to a completely different country is always an exciting prospect. Sail across to Turkey and spend the day exploring the buzzing port town of Marmaris and visiting a bazaar and gold factory on this full day tour.

It's an early morning start as you head for the port – but this tour's worth getting up for. You'll set sail across the waters, arriving just in time for a guided city tour and a quick stop at a panoramic viewpoint to grab those all-important snaps of Marmaris. Then, you'll make tracks to a local gold centre, where you can practice your haggling skills.

You'll head to the old town next, where you'll have plenty of time to explore its winding streets and huge bazaar. Jam-packed full of bargains, it's a great place to pick up any souvenirs to take home. And no trip to Turkey would be complete without the chance to sample some local delicacies such as Turkish delight or traditional tea. After all the excitement, there's a relaxing late afternoon boat ride back to Rhodes.

From the moment we stepped off the ferry the whole trip felt like one big scam. The guided tour was just taking us to places to be sold to by cowboys. And the ‘bazaar’ was just a collection of seedy shops selling fake goods. The fact the meeting point happened to be in one of these shops shows the level of corruption involved. Bearing in mind the fake goods trade is run by organised criminals, I was shocked that TUI would associate itself with such a brazen racket.

I was disappointed and embarrased when we went to the Turkish Delight factory. The gentleman made extremely inappropriate comments and gestures relating to ********** in front of families with young children and my grandson

We had never visited Marmaris before. We really enjoyed the trip. Ferry trip from Rhodes to Marmaris and then back to Rhodes in the late afternoon. We had seen where Turkish Delights is produced, then we stopped at the jewelry factory. Prior to get free time at bazar, we had visited panoramic viewpoint and took lots of pictures. Overall, this trip had been very pleasant to be on.

Great tour guide. Felt a little unsafe/pressurised when walking through the bazaar where constantly approached from shop workers.
