Gran Canaria - Gran Canaria's 'Little Venice' – visit Puerto de Mogan by boat

Puerto de Mogan is said by many to be the most beautiful town in Gran Canaria, and once you've set eyes on its toytown houses, it's hard to argue. This tour brings you by boat, docking right in the heart of the harbour after a scenic approach, so you avoid long walks from out-of-town parking lots. Maria, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Mogan market is a classic in Gran Canaria, known all over the island. And to arrive in the town by boat gives you that a spine-tingling sensation you get in anticipation of a special experience.'Sailing from Puerto Rico harbour, you'll glide along the rocky, volcanic coastline of the south before arriving at Puerto de Mogan. Cupped into cliffs at the mouth of a steep valley, it's known as ‘Little Venice' for its canal, blue-and-yellow-trimmed white cottages, wrought iron balconies and flower-festooned lanes. Traits that have made it very popular.Arriving by boat, you're in the middle of all the action straight away. Only we bring you to and from Puerto de Mogan by sea. Antonio, another of our local guides, say, ‘If you arrive by coach, not only is the journey less scenic but you have to walk a fair bit to get to the waterfront.' You'll have free time to poke around the stalls selling typical Canarian products or just relax at one of the many terraced cafés overlooking the yachts. Majorca - Valldemossa, Son Marroig and Soller tour with historic train ride

History meets scenery on this Tramuntana Mountains tour. You'll visit the honey-stone village of Valldemossa, explore handsome Soller town and enjoy the views on a vintage train ride through mountains and valleys. You can either explore the village under your own steam or join a guided tour to learn more about its history and culture. Xisco adds, ‘My favourite street in Valldemossa is Carrer Rectoria, a narrow alley is lined with potted plants. Saint Catalina Thomas was born here, and her house is now a chapel.' Majorca - Drach Caves, pearl shop with digital museum & local market tour

Three Majorca musts share top billing on this tour. You'll stroll the stalls of a farmer's market, delve into the depths of the famous Drach Caves and visit the renowned Majorica pearl factory. Xisca, one of our local guides, says, ‘Before you even set foot inside, you call feel something truly spectacular lies ahead. The cave system is a world of secretive caverns and subterranean lakes brought to life by music and light shows.'Your first stop will be the Majorica shop and museum, where possibly the finest imitation pearls in the world are made. See digital displays explaining the manufacturing process before browsing pearl jewellery in the shop. Xisca says, ‘The designs are creative and exquisitely crafted, which is why Majorica jewellery is such a popular birthday or Christmas gift on the island.'It's then on to the weekly market in a country town. Poke around stalls stocked with everything from fragrant fruit and vegetables to aromatic herbs and pungent cheeses. The chance to try products such as Majorca's famous black pig pork is part of the experience. Get the lowdown from your guide on the formation of the system millions of years ago. There are four caves and a large lake, made all the more magical by the special lighting and a classical music concert from a quartet right in the very depths of the caves.

Mahon Harbour Boat Tour with Mahon Market and Gin Distillery
Excursions & day trips

Minorca - Mahon Harbour Boat Tour with Mahon Market and Gin Distillery

What better way to spend a few hours than discovering and savouring the delights of Mahon, Menorca's history-steeped capital? On this morning tour, you'll enjoy a harbour boat trip, have free time to explore the old town on market day and visit a historic distillery. Nicola, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘If you scratch beneath the surface, you'll find the British influence in many older buildings such as sash windows, panelled doors, lunettes and more. A uniquely Menorquin touch is the ruby-red paint on these houses.'First up is a glass-bottom boat trip in Mahon harbour – the second largest in the world. Glide between fortified islets and admire the opulent villas lining the waterfront on either side. Some date from the 18th century, when Menorca was a British colony. Next, it's on to the old Xoriguer gin distillery. Menorca's favourite tipple has been made here, using the same recipe, since 1736 – yet another symbol of the island's British heritage. There's also free time to wander around Mahon under your own steam, admiring its Georgian town houses, baroque churches, palm-lined squares and narrow, cobbled streets. Head to the centrally located Plaza del Carme, where there's a market of vendors hawking everything from cured meats to fresh fruit under the cloisters of a 17th-century convent. Whether you’re chilling on the Costa del Sol beaches, exploring historic cities, soaking up nature, or sipping on the finest wines – Spain’s got you covered. Let’s check out the top ten must-see places that make Spain an unbeatable destination.

Top 10 things to do in Spain 1. Enjoy non-stop sunshine in Tenerife

Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, is a dream come true for beachgoers and nature lovers thanks to its amazing weather. Picture black sand beaches and the towering El Teide volcano making for a jaw-dropping landscape. You can spend a fun-filled day at Siam Park, check out the wildlife at Loro Parque, cool off in Garachico’s natural rock pools, or kick back on Costa Adeje’s sunny beaches.

2.  Discover the gorgeous bays of Majorca Majorca, one of the Balearic Islands, is packed with sandy beaches, vineyards, and cute villages. Palma, the island’s capital, is home to La Seu Cathedral and the Castell de Bellver fort – both are must-sees. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, head to the Tramuntana mountains with its traditional villages and olive groves. And don’t miss Majorca’s bays – Cala d’Or, Cala Formentor, and Sa Calobra are among our favourites

3. Check out Barcelona's Modernist architecture Dive into Barcelona’s Catalan modernist scene. You’ll be able to check out Antoni Gaudí’s masterpieces like the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. Also, there are other architectural gems to sink your teeth into like Lluís Domènech i Montaner’s Hospital de Sant Pau and the Palace of Catalan Music. Beyond the architecture, Barcelona offers a mouth-watering food scene, a trendy city beach, and plenty of museums.

4. Soak up the royal vibes in Madrid Madrid, the Spanish capital, is bursting with cultural treasures and culinary delights. Swing by the Prado Museum, one of the world’s largest art galleries, or take a stroll through Retiro Park. Football fan? Check out one of the city’s famous stadiums. The Royal Palace of Madrid is another highlight, showcasing opulent halls and art. And definitely try some churros – the sweet, sugary treat — plus, there are tapas bars everywhere just waiting to be explored. 5. Enjoy sunny days on the Costa del Sol The sun-soaked Costa del Sol is Spain’s answer to the French Riviera. Stretching over 160 kilometers, the Andalusian coast is dotted with beautiful sandy beaches and charming towns like Marbella, Nerja, and Malaga – perfect for beach addicts. Stroll the Caminito del Rey, grab some fresh seafood at a seaside restaurant, or just soak up the Mediterranean rays. 6. Discover the Alhambra in Granada The Alhambra in Granada is a must-see for anyone interested in Spain’s rich Moorish history. This hilltop fortress complex includes royal palaces, peaceful courtyards, and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada. Lose yourself in the Lion’s Court (Patio de los Leones), enjoy the fragrant Generalife gardens, and let the Alhambra’s magic whisk you back in time.

7. Dance the night away in Ibiza Ibiza – often dubbed the party capital of the world – is buzzing with life and energy. Known for legendary clubs and world-class DJs, you can dance away until sunrise. But there’s more to this Balearic gem than meets the eye — beaches, yoga retreats, and authentic villages offer a slice of quiet from the party scene. It’s an island of contrasts.

8. Be wowed by the Cathedral-Mosque of Cordoba

The Cathedral-Mosque of Cordoba represents centuries of cultural fusion and architectural genius. Originally a Roman temple, it became a Visigothic church, then a mosque during the Moorish period, and finally a Catholic cathedral. The mix of Moorish arches and Christian chapels is simply mesmerizing. Walking through this UNESCO World Heritage site feels like stepping back in time.

9. Taste the fine wines of La Rioja

If you love wine, La Rioja is a must-visit. This hilly region is known for producing some of Spain’s finest wine. Here, you can tour the traditional wineries, learn all about the winemaking process, and of course – enjoy some tastings. Don’t miss out on exploring the capital, Logroño, and getting a taste of the tapas on Calle Laurel and Calle San Juan – it’s got an excellent reputation.

Valencia, Spain’s third-largest city, sits on the shores of the Turia River along the Mediterranean coast. It’s a city where old meets new in the coolest way – from the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences to the historic district. Valencia is also the birthplace of paella, so be sure to try this classic rice dish at one of the city’s traditional restaurants.
