Friguia Tierpark

3.3/5
53 reviews

Friguia Park is more than a zoo – it's an animal kingdom where you can see and meet everything from antelopes to zebras. On this guided tour, you'll spend the morning getting up close to more than 60 species of animals – it's the perfect outing for all the family.

Tunisia's first zoo, Friguia protects and preserves the most endangered species. Stroll along the elevated trails and learn about the park's well-cared-for animals, which are divided in spacious habitats per species. Over in the wetlands you can see pink flamingos and pelicans, while in the savannah you can observe zebras, elephants, tigers, lions and leopards.

Take a break from exploring and let the cheeky sea lions entertain you during a live performance. If you're feeling peckish, grab a snack from the cafeteria and sit back and relax at the picnic area. All this in the space of a morning, meaning you'll be back at your hotel to spend the afternoon doing whatever you like.

Very expensive compared to going by taxi. The park is very run down; half of the advertised animals aren’t even there anymore; managed to do the whole park in an hour then had to sit in the boiling hot sun and wait for the coach as the restaurant is no longer open eithwr

Well, I think we had a great time, only missed out on the crocodile and giraffe, everything else that people moan about was there like lions, tigers, sea lion, leopards & elephants etc. was given 2hr window, was done by 90mins, spent the rest of the time in the bus under AC as it had become hotter nearer to midday, luckily we took iced water in our Stanley cups from the hotel. Park is on a hill so lots of inclining and declining paths.

Lovely morning at the animal park - visited on a very hot day, but found opportunity to rest in the shade and purchase refreshments. TUI guide was a lovely chap - really knowledgeable about both the excursion and Tunisia in general.

Sold as a half day trip but only given 90mins at the actual zoo so felt rushed, especially as children wanted to do the camel rides and face painting but couldnt do it all. The zoo its self is a charming little zoo and would happily go back but would arrange my own transport and buy tickets on the door as it would be much more relaxed and cheaper.

We went here 14 years ago and has massively fallen below that standard which wasn’t that high back then, same tired infer structure.. toilets horrible and run down, snack and ice cream stations shut down, kids play areas closed off .. seal tanks so run down you can’t see the sea lions through the glass … not a great place now so run down

Far too expensive for what it was, which was a poor run down attraction… very few animals.
