Friguia Tierpark

3.3/5
44 reviews

Friguia Park is more than a zoo – it's an animal kingdom where you can see and meet everything from antelopes to zebras. On this guided tour, you'll spend the morning getting up close to more than 60 species of animals – it's the perfect outing for all the family.

Tunisia's first zoo, Friguia protects and preserves the most endangered species. Stroll along the elevated trails and learn about the park's well-cared-for animals, which are divided in spacious habitats per species. Over in the wetlands you can see pink flamingos and pelicans, while in the savannah you can observe zebras, elephants, tigers, lions and leopards.

Take a break from exploring and let the cheeky sea lions entertain you during a live performance. If you're feeling peckish, grab a snack from the cafeteria and sit back and relax at the picnic area. All this in the space of a morning, meaning you'll be back at your hotel to spend the afternoon doing whatever you like.

Sold as a half day trip but only given 90mins at the actual zoo so felt rushed, especially as children wanted to do the camel rides and face painting but couldnt do it all. The zoo its self is a charming little zoo and would happily go back but would arrange my own transport and buy tickets on the door as it would be much more relaxed and cheaper.

We went here 14 years ago and has massively fallen below that standard which wasn’t that high back then, same tired infer structure.. toilets horrible and run down, snack and ice cream stations shut down, kids play areas closed off .. seal tanks so run down you can’t see the sea lions through the glass … not a great place now so run down

Far too expensive for what it was, which was a poor run down attraction… very few animals.

A seriously run down site. You struggle to spend more than 2 hours here. We were lucky as our hotel was close but some had a 3 hour round coach trip to only spend 2 hours here. Not worth the time or money. Another Tunisia experience I feel TUI should not sell. Do not waste your time or money on this absolute rubbish.

Either start the trip a little bit later or give customers a bit more time, just so they can do the experiences like feeding the lemurs! We were told the lemur experience started at 11 ish and our bus was leaving at 11:30, sadly we had to miss out on the lemur feeding due to this small time slot left! Overall was great, nice and easy to walk around and follow the paths to whichever animals you wanted to see!
