From a Roman amphitheatre that once held 35,000 spectators to a Star Wars film set still standing among the desert dunes, this two-day tour crosses southern Tunisia in one sweep. You'll walk through underground cave homes that doubled as Luke Skywalker's house, cross Chott el Jerid's vast salt lake by road and spend the night in Douz, the oasis town known as the gateway to the Sahara. A local expert guide brings the film history, archaeology and desert culture together across both days. Douz is an oasis town on the edge of the Sahara, known as the gateway to the desert. After a day of Roman ruins, underground homes and driving through sand dunes, the evening brings the option of a camel or carriage ride into the desert before settling in for the night. The tour overall was a fantastic experience for me was well worth what I paid as I wanted to do most of the things on the tour. I was a lone traveller as my first time abroad alone and what a time I had. I would say the tour is not really for youngsters as there is a lot of time on coach but you get to see so much of Tunisia as you’re not driving. Watching the sunset by camel in the Sahara is something else. And the trip over the salt lake and desert by 4x4 mint.. Star Wars set awesome 🙌

Het is een waanzinnige ervaring en je komt op hele bijzondere plekken. De gids was erg vriendelijk en wist een hoop over het land en de gebruiken te vertellen. Als ik een min punt moet noemen is het er 1 waar Tui of de gids niks aan kan doen: maakt niet uit waar je komt, er wordt op een hele opdringerige manier geprobeerd je iets aan te smeren. Vooral bij de avond woestijnrit ervaarde wij het als erg vervelend. De gids waarschuwde ons er wel voor en gaf ook wel aan wat we konden verwachten.

Loved it all! Our guide was phenomenal providing a wealth of information and insight into Tunisia. Lunch breaks were a little short for us as we like to take a little longer than most. People touting for business when you stop is hard to deal with initially as someone not used to it, but you get the hang of saying no firmly.

This experience caters for all tastes. It embraces history and gives a true understanding of Tunisia. There's also a great deal of fun. Camel rides and the excitement of a 4WD ride across a salt lake and over the dunes. There's plenty of travelling buy it's worth every penny

Long days but lots to see. Great guide with lots of local knowledge. Friendly professional driver. A good way to see a lot in 2 days. Nice mix of experience hotel overnight was serviceable and staff made us welcome. Over all good value for money and a trip I would recommend. Good way to see more of the country.
