Pick your way along the challenging 8km route of Imbros Gorge, surrounded by wonderful fauna and the steep vertical walls of the ravine. There's also a refreshment stop in Komitades, and the opportunity for a swim in Hora Sfakion.

As you stroll along, take in the views over the White Mountains as you head up to the starting point – the mountain village of Imbros. Here, you'll set off on your 3-4 hour hike, following pathways through wildflower meadows. The going never get too rough underfoot and the gradient is a gentle descent.

Enjoy a well-earned break at the end of the trail, with plenty of free time to take a refreshing swim in the waters off Hora Sfakion's tranquil beach or grab a bite to eat.

The pick up was prompt, our guide was friendly and well informed and the journey to the gorge was pleasant with a a nice stop along the way. walking the Imbros Gorge was not difficult to walk but very rewarding and could be done comfortably in good footwear. The end of the walk rendezvous worked well and all this created a very pleasant experience.

The gorge walk itself was just what we were after. The restaurant at the bottom of the walk was a very welcome end to the mini trek. The trip to the beach afterwards just made it a hot end to an over-long day. (Sure, the beach bit was an opportunity to cool off a bit in the sea for those who were geared up for that, but I'd have rather got back to the hotel for a shower and a sun-downer drink).

The gorge was beautiful and scenery on the journey spectacular. The guide excellent. I would say the path is difficult due to loose stones underfoot. You need walking boots otherwise it is unpleasant walking.
