Monkeys aren't the only thing you'll see swinging through the trees on this day out. At Punta Cana's premier primate park, you can fly through the forest canopy too. Head to Monkeyland's spectacular mountain surrounds to spot super-cute squirrel monkeys and then hit the heights for a thrilling 12-wire zipline course.

Kick off with a visit to Casa del Coco to learn all about coconut oil and other organic Dominican products. You'll get to taste a few of them along with the national tipple, mamajuana, too. Suitably refreshed, we'll then head through acres of lush green rainforest and along mountain slopes towards Monkeyland.

Home to hundreds of chattering squirrel monkeys, you'll see these friendly creatures at play in their natural surroundings as you tour the botanical gardens. And if you really want to make it a wild day out, you can upgrade your ticket to include the park's action-packed zipline course – one of the longest in the Caribbean – or a buggy ride and river swim.

It’s an expensive and long trip to see the monkeys for only 30 minutes the rest of your time is a up sale marketing event 6 hour trip no snack a bottle of water and 30 minutes if that with the monkeys

We really enjoyed the excursion we were a little apprehensive about the ethics, and the money making out of the use of animals. But as soon as we arrived you could tell that the staff were extremely caring for the monkeys, they had strict rules to ensure that they are looked after during the interaction with them. One rule was that there is no touching them which we completely respected and the interaction was completely on the monkeys terms.

I thoroughly enjoyed our Monkey experience! Everyone from the drive to the tour guides were excellent. The cocoa bean presentation was so informative and the pictures with the monkeys was a great plus! I wouldn't say to change a thing!

We really enjoyed it whilst interacting with the monkeys - however prior to that we had a demonstration of how local coffee, chocolate and by products (oils etc) were manufactured. The demonstration was interesting and staff were quite funny in their presentation. Their was a degree of frustration among some people after the event as they waited around a half hour whilst people bought products on sale.

Experience was amazing, the monkeys were clearly happy and well looked after. The staff clearly loved them which is great to see. Guide in the bus super knowledgeable and the tastings at the end were great as no pressure to buy if you didn’t want to.
