Adventure Boogies

4.3/5
254 reviews

This wild buggy ride through the Dominican countryside makes for a morning of adrenaline-pumping adventure. As well as rumbling through rustic villages, you'll visit an organic farm and cool off with a swim in a cenote. There's no better way to put a bit of oomph into your holidays.

After pick-up, we'll head to a ranch for a safety briefing and the lowdown on Terracross buggies. Don your helmet, put on your belt and give it some welly. You'll zoom across the backwoods to the co-op farm. Your guide will tell you about and let you try traditional Dominican products such as coconut oil, chocolate tea, tobacco, rum, cocoa and, of course, the world-famous coffee.

Buggy driving can be a messy business, so you'll round up with a chance to freshen up with a swim in a cenote – a natural spring of crystal clear water.

Wouldn't waste my money again, your hassled as soon as you get there to buy stuff from the shop and pay for a photo package, then you drive for 5 minutes and your dropped off at the adventure park? Yes the swim in the cave was good but then your just sat in a classroom type setting so they can upsell their coffee and chocolate and pass it round for you to smell.

Enjoyed: Overall, great and memorable experience in driving buggy and the time spent in the cave. Didn't like: Time sitting on a stationary transfer bus. Half an hour outside hotel waiting for bus to depart and an hour outside the buggy venue waiting for it to depart. Also, not received a link to the videos that we bought and will have to contact puntacanapics to get them.

We had great fun from transfer ride to buggies - very messy as advertised and good fun! Only downside was the attempt to upsell at every opportunity from gift shop, goggles, photos etc. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.

We thought the ride and tour were great. We enjoyed every aspect of each of the events (especially the Senotes) and stops along the way, the only thing I would have liked, would have been a bit more freedom to “tear it up”. While I understand not everyone wants to go fast, it would have been great to let loose a little bit. Overall, highly recommended.

Tourist trap. Money grab. Cave isn't natural. Everything was rushed. Everyone kept asking for money including a random child on the hot, dirt road. Very unfortunate. Guy I was wish wasn't given a helmet on ride back. We asked for one twice. Then mid ride we got stopped and a worker gave him their helmet. Buggy ride was fun though.

Showed up 45 minutes late for pickup. Organization was pathetic at best. Guy we booked thru skimmed 10% off top. Made us pay 10% in cash, the put it in his wallet in front of us. Not worth value at all. Would not recommend at all.
