The Anaga Mountains in northeast Tenerife form a spectacular backdrop for this daytrip in a minivan. On this town and country tour, you'll venture into the magical Mercedes laurel forest, discover La Laguna – considered one of the island's prettiest towns – and visit Candelaria Basilica.

We'll set off on our adventure around Tenerife into one of Tenerife's most emblematic places – Anaga Mountains. This volcanic range house the Mercedes laurel forest as well as cacti and native dragon trees. And you'll experience it all up close in a minivan, which can travel along noodle-thin mountain roads. Lunch is in a homestead in Taganana.

You'll also head to La Laguna, declared a UNESCO site, where you can walk among big-windowed, pastel-coloured homes. Along the way, you'll also journey through the Tegueste wine country .There are pit stops at the impossibly golden Las Teresitas beach and the waterfront Candelaria Basilica, and quick zoom through the capital, Santa Cruz.

The weather was very warm and sunny and wished there was more time for us at the beach near Santa Cruz. (The stop was only 20 minutes.)

Booking w Tui staff at the Atlantic Hills hotel was excellent - felt I was able to make an appropriate choice with my health issues, and she was very kind and encouraging. Our Guide on the day was brilliant - knowledgeable and fun. Weather curtailed our trip to to the woods. I think the portion of the day at La Laguna was the least successful, only enough time to do long walk in, take a couple of pics and long walk back to the drop off point. Lunch was passable.

The guide Alex was top class and we had a great day. The only thing that could be improved was the food at lunchtime which wasn’t very good - but the overall day was great

Neil was a good driver and very knowledgeable guide. We considered that lunch was pretty poor and that the visit to the Bodega was almost pointless.

Unser Fahrer und Guide Jerry war sehr nett und humorvoll. Er hat uns über die Geschichte, Vegetation, und Geographie der Insel wertvolle Einblicke gegeben. Die „Weinprobe“ in der Bodega bestand lediglich aus einer Füllung der Gläser ohne jeglichen Kommentar. Alles in allem war es jedoch eine sehr schöne und interessante Tour.
