All the best bits of Thassos feature on this full day tour. Your guide will recount stories and myths as you traverse the countryside and coastline to the clifftop Archangel Michael monastery, Panagia, and Aliki – for its picture-postcard beach. It's a great way to see the island and the scenery is second to none.

Kick off at Archangel Michael, a 12th century working monastery perched on a cliff edge. Explore the icon-bedecked chapel and soak up the views over the Aegean – on a clear day you can see to Mount Athos, the holy mountain in mainland Greece. Next is Aliki, a beautiful promontory lined by beaches, where you'll have time for some strolling and sunning. We'll also pit stop in Faros for a chance to grab some lunch.

Then it's off to Panagia where you'll visit the blue-domed church as well as see the miniature canals carrying water from the mountains. We'll round off in breezy Thassos town and walk through the ancient marketplace, the centre of trade and politics of its time.

Dominic was an excellent guide and made the trip very enjoyable. There was enough stops and time at each place. The lunch stop was wonderful, traditional food.

The tour is whistle stop however gives an insight into the island. Dominic was great and very knowledgeable and the taverna for lunch stop had fabulous views and good food Would recommend this tour

Dominic, our rep was great, informative and really looked after us. He could have done more Saw some beautiful sites including the monastery and churches, took us to a beautiful restaurant Was a lovely day

The second stop at the beach didn't allow time for a swim which was implied in the advertising literature and whilst the historical aspect had added value towards the religious aspect of the site and was worthwhile I do question the time allocated which would have benefitted with longer time in Thassos Town itself.

It was a full 8 hour day. Overall an interesting trip but there was no opportunity to swim which was disappointing as it was so hot. The clothing advice didn’t mention that the monastery provides overskirts etc which would have enabled us to wear cooler clothing. Our guide was very knowledgeable but didn’t wait for the group to assemble or noise to die down, so at times it was very hard to hear her.
