Bumping along the mountain tracks of Crete, where the island's mythology, flora, fauna and local life come alive. First up, we'll head into the mountains, following winding roads with breathtaking coastal views as we make our way to the traditional village of Mochos, where locals gather in the square to enjoy Greek coffee and watch the world go by. Next, we'll stop at an olive oil factory in Potamies, where you'll learn about the production process and enjoy a tasting of this local delicacy. We then continue to a small local farm, where you'll have the chance to meet and feed goats and experience rural life up close.
After a stop at a 14th-century monastery, with the option to visit its small museum, we'll continue to a viewpoint overlooking the sunken village of Sfendili, a unique and fascinating sight. Then it's time to visit Krassi, a picturesque mountain village known for its craft shops, historic stone washbasins and its impressive 2,000-year-old plane tree. Here, you'll have free time to explore the village life and culture that has remained largely untouched by time.
