What to do in Las Vegas

A trip to Las Vegas is a one-of-a-kind experience. This city, where fun knows no boundaries, offers extraordinary attractions that have redefined the very concept of entertainment. From the neon lights of the Strip to internationally acclaimed shows, Las Vegas is Shangri-La for the on-the-go. Discover the world of casinos, treat yourself to the culinary extravaganzas of renowned chefs, and let yourself be pampered by luxurious hotels and resorts. For some inspiration, check out some of our favorite Las Vegas experiences.

The six best things to do in Las Vegas

1. Admire the view from the High Roller

This huge Ferris wheel is one of the city’s most beloved symbols. Climb into one of the High Roller’s gondolas and admire the view beneath your feet, at a height of 550 feet. During the day, you’ll be able to see the surrounding area from a truly dizzying height, but it’s at night that the wheel’s at its best. Illuminated by 2,000 LED lights, it will give you a spectacular perspective on the city. Whether you’re traveling as a couple, as a family or with friends, a ride on this big wheel is a must.

2. Walk the Las Vegas Strip

Walking along the Las Vegas Strip will feel like entering another world. This four-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard, where glitzy resorts and neon lights paint a very particular landscape, is an attraction without equal. Don’t think of it as a visit but more of a sensory experience, filled with high-end entertainment, fine dining, and endless shopping. The Strip is a world of wonders, where in the blink of an eye you’ll be under the Eiffel Tower or on the canals in Venice. Visiting it, you will be able to capture the glamorous and extravagant essence of Las Vegas.

3. Explore the futuristic AREA15

Discover the extraordinary AREA15, an experience unlike any other, immersive, and unmissable. The district combines art, technology, and entertainment, creating a new concept of visitor attraction. Inside, you’ll find it difficult to distinguish reality and imagination, thanks to ever-new experiences and innovative art exhibitions. Between events and cutting-edge works, AREA15 celebrates creativity in all its forms and invites you to discover the infinite possibilities of entertainment. There’s no shortage of bars, restaurants, and shops where you can relax at the end of the experience.

4. Take a tour of the Grand Canyon

Las Vegas is a great starting point for hiking in some of America’s most famous national parks. Among these is the Grand Canyon, a natural wonder to visit at least once in your life, whose closest point is just over two hours away by car. Carved into the rock by the passage of time, this 277-mile-long canyon will leave you speechless with its beauty and vastness. Whether you choose to access the site from the South Rim or the West Rim, be sure to wear comfortable shoes. The experience on the Skywalk, a glass bridge suspended over the canyon, is exhilarating.

5. Visit Hoover Dam

Another popular excursion from Las Vegas is to Hoover Dam, about a 40-minute drive. This large barrier on the Colorado River is a work of high engineering which, thanks to its large walls, creates the artificial reservoir of Lake Mead. In addition to discovering the history and secrets behind its construction, the excursion allows you to take a breather from the frenzy of the city, immersing yourself in nature. And if you want to get a slightly different perspective, try taking a kayak tour.

6. Witness a glittering show

The icing on the Las Vegas entertainment cake is its internationally renowned shows – so spectacular that many go down in history. Hosted in resorts and theatres, these shows will transport you to a fantasy world of wonder and twists. Concerts, ballets, magic shows, the legendary Cirque du Soleil and more – there’s always something with a touch of unmistakable extravagance.

Get ready to visit Las Vegas

When's the best time to visit Las Vegas?

Las Vegas is in the middle of the Mojave Desert, which is why it has a particularly hot climate during the summer, though with notable night-time temperature variations. So we advise you against traveling during the summer, when the temperature can exceed 100F. Both spring and the fall are excellent options, with a sunny but pleasant climate.

How many days should you spend in Las Vegas?

A couple of days are enough to experience the extravagant atmosphere of Las Vegas, attend a show and see the most famous attractions. However, consider that Las Vegas is a good starting point for reaching the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park. If you have the time, extend your stay to four or five days, and include some trips to these natural wonders.

Where are the best places to stay in Las Vegas?

It’s worth it to book one of the quirky hotels on the Strip. That way, you’ll be able to completely immerse yourself in the city’s atmosphere. Despite being the most iconic street in Las Vegas, the prices of the hotels are very competitive, making it an excellent area to look for accommodation.

An alternative is Fremont Street, in Downtown Las Vegas. It’s a lively area, with all the necessary services but decidedly quieter than the Strip.
