You'll kick off this full day tour just as you mean to go on – driving along country roads and tracks to experience the real Crete. You'll head for the mountains first, stopping off for photos and a coffee in a village, before reaching Spili, home to the 25-head Lion Fountain and some gorgeous views.

Now you'll really get to grips with the land as you go off-road towards the village of Kerame where you'll be treated views over the south coast. There's a beach nearby where River Kourtaliotis flows into the sea, Preveli Beach, which makes an idyllic spot to take a dip. A Cretan lunch then awaits before a walk between the vertical cliffs surrounding Kourtaliotiko Gorge.

We found the rear seats in the landrover uncomfortable, we had ordered the Mercedes. We enjoyed the scenery, the beach, and in particular the driver’s humerous attitude. Costo was very knowledgable about all the plants, trees and local history.

We were kept safe . Without too much interferance.at 79 yrs of age icertainly apreciated the extra care and consideration.and was able to join in. Our guide georgeous was kind and made us laugh. We had agreat day

Costa the guide was brilliant. Lunch was very good. Enjoyed seeing the countryside but didn't realise that to get to Prevali beach you had to go up steps over the cliff. Not good if you have arthritis and fear of heights so didn't do that. There is another beach nearby but be aware that it is sand and pebbles/ small rocks so water shoes needed

Enjoyed all bar the beach stop, as none of us wanted it as our hotels are on the beach. We were told by the guide we could have lunch early and have more time elsewhere , this did not happen as all of us was unaware it was the same stop for lunch so dragged the time out and then waited by the vehicle for a time to be told to go where the lunch was in the area so a good hour wasted. Also we were in a Mercedes Vito not a land-rover as requested by our rep.
