Barcelona Zoo is ideal for family days out. Over 7,000 animals from all over the world call this place home, including everything from lions, kangaroos and elephants to meerkats and creepy crawlies. It makes for a wild day trip from Salou.

There's something for everyone at Barcelona Zoo. And once we arrive, you'll have a morning of exploration ahead of you. Toddlers can pet the goats and guinea pigs at the farm, while older children get stuck in with the interactive exhibits. Don't forget to check out the art gallery – all the pictures have been drawn by the resident gorillas.

Within the park, there are restaurants and picnic areas where you can stop for lunch. And, afterwards, you'll have some free time to explore the Ramblas or go for a stroll around the famous Port-Vell area of the city.

There was a good mix of Zoo & downtime in Barcelona. We were also given the flexibility to have shorter/longer Zoo experience if needed meaning we could make own way in Barcelona for free time and just meet end of day for return journey. Michael the tour guide was amazing, had the same guide 2 years ago. Michael is informative keeping coach up to date with plans ensuring everyone knows whats happening for their day. Michael makes himself available for questions 1 to 1 too. Friendly great guy.

Trip was great guide and driver were amazing and well informed with information and. Drop of and pick up very friendly was nice to to have free time after zoo felt rushed not a lot of animals seen drop of was around 11 pick up was before 2 overall was a good day out

Thought it was well organised and the tour guide was well informed and kept us informed of where to meet up and times

They picked us from the hotel and drop it near there and the guide came along with us and got our tickets and ask us to meet us outside certain time

Zoo was good but free time was only long enough to get food and a quick look in a couple of shops. Zoo only would be a better option
