Mt Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe and a true icon of Sicily. By coach, cable-car and minibus you‘ll ascend 1,900 mts above sea level to one of the famous mountains main craters. What's more, on this full day experience, you‘ll get to visit one of Italy's most beautiful towns too.

Perched on a clifftop overlooking sweeping bays, Taormina is home to some of the best-preserved historic landmarks in the world. Take time to sip a cappuccino in the Piazza Nove Aprile, browse the chic boutiques, or check out the town's star attraction – its ancient Greek-Roman theatre. Whatever you do, you'll have plenty of free time to explore one of the prettiest towns in Italy.

Once you've had your fill of sightseeing, it's on to Mount Etna – Europe's highest volcano. But the coach can only take you so far. So you'll grab a cable car or an all-terrain vehicle and journey up to 1,900 metres for the grandstand views atop this historic landmark.

All good till bus due to leave Mount Etna ~ 12:30 . The ~ 2 hours 20 minutes delay due failure of passengers who went or tried to go to top to return in time due to weather . Question : If weather was an issue why were these people allowed to ascend ? Rest of the trip a wash out as a result .

Beautiful town we visited first. Absolutely stunning and we loved it. Going to mount Etna was ok since we didn’t go all the way up. Thought it was very expensive to go all the way up. But our guide was super friendly and explained everything about anything

This trip was very expensive. Going to the top of the volcano was great, but overall this was too long a day! We were picked up at 6.25 and our hotel wouldn’t provide breakfast. We spent 8.5 hours on a bus, returning back to resort knackered. There is a 2 hour stop in Taormina which was too long and lengthened journey time back and also meant we hit rush hour traffic on the return journey.

Tour guide Roberta, absolutely delightful young lady. Informative, good sense of humour. Looked after our party very well.
