Set off from Cefalù on a full-day excursion to two of Sicily's most renowned destinations – Mount Etna and Taormina. At Mount Etna, Europe's tallest active volcano, you'll discover a dramatic volcanic landscape shaped by lava flows, with striking contrasts of black and red terrain. There is the opportunity to reach heights of up to 2,900 metres above sea level, offering impressive views across the surrounding area. The tour then continues to Taormina, a picturesque hilltop town known for its winding medieval streets, boutiques and cafés. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the historic centre and admire the famous Greek Theatre, spectacularly positioned above the coastline with views over the Ionian Sea.

The trip was 13 hours long. Of these 13 hours we were given 1 and a half hours Taormina and 2 hour at Etna. This was not enough time to look and enjoy. We spent a total time of 9 and a-half hours on a bus - with a 15 minute toilet stop. It was painful.

De bus was een half uur te laat. Daarna nog een uur mensen ophalen. De heenweg 4 uur in de bus gezeten. De terugweg 3,5 uur. Het stadje was heel leuk, maar veel te kort als je de arena ook wil zien. Bij de Etna zijn we niet bij de top geweest. Dit wordt ook niet geadviseerd in de TUI app. Er was niks te doen en leek op een vuilnisbelt. Zeer slecht dus vooral voor 7,5 uur in de bus.

De reisleiding ter plekke had ons niet goed uitgelegd dat er twee mogelijkheden waren waardoor wij nu 138 euro teveel betaald hebben. Je kon nl naar 1900 mtr of 2900 mtr en wij wilden de eerste en kregen de tweede. Wij vertrouwde de reisleiding ter plekke dus hebben verder niet meer naar de boeking gekeken ook omdat we niet van 2 mogelijkheden wisten. Dat hoorde we van de begeleiding tijdens de excursie, die overigens wel prima was. Maar helaas vind TUI het onze eigen schuld.
