Kefalonians take their traditions seriously, and the feast of St Gerasimos on August 16 is as big as they get. You'll be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the Omala Valley to celebrate their patron saint with the locals. Get the lowdown from your guide on the importance of the feast, wander around a local market, visit the monastery where his relics are held, and round off the experience with a tasting at the Robola Winery.

The guide was great and very informative. It was good to experience traditional Greek culture. The wine tasting was excellent and the owner who presented the wines was very engaging. The place was spotless.

The festival was wonderful to see, listening to the singing from the service, very emotional. More information regarding where the coach was parked to pick us up could have been better. We went to where we were dropped off. But guide was very apologetic, and we knew it had bothered her, as one of us had a walking stick, and walked further than we needed to, but we told her not to worry. Overall a great experience

Katalina was amazing and so sweet, she gave us so much information about the festival and the island too. The whole family loved the trip. It was a great day out and we learnt so much about Kefalonia.

This trip was very interesting. The guide was informative and told us all about the history of the island and the festival, along with the vegetation of the island as we drove through. She was very helpful and welcoming so were the staff at the wine tasting

The guide was informative and the event interesting. However, little disappointed with the winery part. It felt rushed to get us to purchase items. Information was good. The Children weren't even offered a glass - no water or juice. Let's face it it would ha least you could do.on a hot day. Yeo on my group weren't the only children attending.
