The Reina Sofia Museum’s world-class art regularly leaves art aficionados speechless. An example of this is the Guernica, Picasso's 1937 masterpiece. Marta, our guide, says, ‘In response to the bombing of Guernica, a town in northern Spain, this huge 3.5-meter artwork is one of the most powerful anti-war paintings in history. Powerful imagery and emotion make up for the piece’s lack of colour – delve deep beyond the strokes of the weeping woman, soldier, horse and bull.’
