Sunset & Dolphins

4.3/5
541 reviews

As combinations go, it's hard to beat a sunset cruise with a dolphin-watching expedition. But that's exactly what this evening excursion is all about. You'll sail on a superfast boat off the coast of Puerto del Carmen and search for dolphins, and then watch the sun sink into the horizon. What's more, sparkling wine and pastries are included.

The Biosfera sails from Puerto del Carmen marina early in the evening. For more than two hours, your captain will take you to waters famed for their dolphins. Sightings are not guaranteed – but the skipper will spare no effort to search for them. Dolphins are spotted on a high proportion of cruises. Information on dolphins is provided on board. As the boat zooms along the Atlantic, you'll be served Cava and pastries.

And soon it'll be time for the other big show – sunset. The colours depend on the day and cloud cover but pink, gold and scarlet skies are a common sight. For the return back to port, the Biosfera will cruise past volcanic cliffs and secluded coves. A magical evening.

Overall an amazing experience, everyone was helpful, me and my son were sat supererate due to fillee seats, but staff helped make it so we were together which I was very grateful for. We had great sights of the dolphins and the pastries and cava with the amazing views topped it off. We would definitely recommend

The trip was worth it to see the dolphins in there natural setting. The trip was not so good on security and safety. There were 2 boats and no enough seats on them. I went with my grandchildren and we were lucky to get a seat, some young children were left standing at the back of the boat. There was no safety talk in case of an accident and no evidence of life jackets. The crew worked hard to find the dolphins and kept us entertained.

Didn’t spend long enough to see the sun setting down. Spent along time waiting to get on the boat after getting off the bus. Wasn’t ideal as we were stood in direct sunlight and was very hot. Loved seeing the dolphins.

We enjoyed seeing the dolphins. Poor communication, lack of instruction not advised on times, where to go etc long coach transfer with poor air con, no toilet or water available. Long wait stood in the boiling hot sun whilst members of the excursion team made jokes about how they had just been for a meal. Very choppy ride causing bad sickness. Drinks and food given on rocking boat should have been provided off the boat.

Staff interaction was pretty minimal but fine. We didn't see dolphins but that's out of everyone's control. We still really enjoyed it. When we got off the coach it wasnt clear where to go and we were left standing in the hot sun for a while waiting to board. Some shade would have made a big difference.
