Funchal Christmas lights festive walking tour

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Lights, decorations, atmosphere was fantastic. Very good value for money. Would recommend this excursion to everybody. Only criticism was journey back to our hotel on the coach as the heating was too high so which made a few of us feel rather sickly.

Should have turned the lights off inside the coach to give better veiw of the lights , the Christmas Market was smaller the expected, if guide had advise us where the coach was going to be parked , we could have spent some time in the area the coach was parked, rather than waiting at the top of the street

This was described as a Funchal Christmas Lights Festive Walking Tour, however, to me this isn't what it turned out to be. The scenic drive was just picking up other guests from various hotels then taken into Funchal. The coach dropped us off by the court building and the 'tour guide' although pleasant and personable, walked us down to the Zarco statute, told us what time to meet back there and left us to our own devices. Not my idea of a walking tour, and certainly not worth 23 Euros

We obviously enjoyed seeing the lights and the christmas market, the latter wasn't as big as it was made out by the rep in our hotel. The biggest negative to the trip was the time it took us to get from the Riu Madeira to the first view point. It was practically an hour in total. This was nearly as much time as the free time we had to wander around. To be honest it has put us off having the boat trip on New Year's Eve.

Just inform people that there are a lot of pickups on way down to start tour
