Gulf of Orosei by motorboat

3.1/5
12 reviews

Tucked away between limestone cliffs and craggy coastline, some of Sardinia's best beaches hide away in the Gulf of Orosei. With clear blue waters lapping powder-white sands, it's like Italy's answer to the Caribbean. Enjoy some sun on your face, knockout views and swim stops at a duo of hidden bays on this relaxing motorboat tour.

At one of the country's premier national parks, you'll go on an exploration in the Gulf of Orosei where you can expect to find dramatic cliffs, caves and coastal views by the dozen. Sail out into the turquoise waters by motorboat and admire every inch of beauty along the shore.

Keep your eyes peeled for local queen hawks soaring above you as your skipper sails towards swim stops at Cala Mariolu and Cala Sisine. After a few refreshing dips in the Med, there's an optional visit to the impressive Bue Marino cave. The natural arches and tall stone spikes of Cala Goloritzè make for a photo finish to the day, so keep your camera handy. The standout 150-metre stone spike is a protected natural monument which helped bag Goloritzè the World's Best Beach award for 2025. Catch a few rays on the deck as you return along the Gulf of Orosei back to shore.

From the minute we arrived on a boat that resembled a ferry we knew this trip was not going to go well , we had to fight for a seat as over 250 people were on board , the temperature within the boat was unbearable , on the 2 hour ride to go pick up More passengers people were being sick , one we arrived at our first stop 2 and a half hours later we landed on a beach that was a stoney normal beach when we were promised the best beach in the world , I could go on but o it have a few words AVOID !

Firstly far too many people on the boat and then to pick up 60 more people half way along, we were packed in like sardines. Plus I don’t think I’ve even seen so many people be sick in one place. The trip lasted about 13 hours which I thought was way too long. The only thing we like about the trip was the cave which was an optional extra but I’m glad we did it. Unfortunately this meant less time on the nicer beach as we thought the first beach was not very good.

Sold as best beaches in the Med, actually both beaches were pebbly and smelly. Very expensive, with no drink or food provided. Available on the boat at inflated prices. Guide had very little English and had learnt her greeting, which apart from seeing her leave the bar at the far back of a beach and asking her about when our return coach would arrive, of which she had no idea, about 45 mins after departure of the boat, was the only contact we had with her . Cave was great, but EXTRA cost. Poor!!

It was really a long day on a boat ! We only got to see two of the beaches. There needs to be information on the trip about lunch as if you don’t reserve onboard there is opportunity !!
