If there's one must-see in Crete, it's the UNESCO-listed Palace of Knossos. Just south of Heraklion, it's the island's most popular attraction. And for good reason – it's absolutely fascinating. You'll also get to discover Heraklion with a guided walking tour, taking in its Venetian architecture.

It was the hub of Crete's Minoan civilisation, and where the fearsome Minotaur was said to have lurked in a labyrinth. Your guide will explain the myths surrounding Knossos Palace and its kings as you explore its treasures, including the throne room, royal apartments and frescoes.

It's then time to head to Heraklion, Crete's capital. See the Venetian lion fountain and the loggia on a guided walk around the city. You'll then have free time to wander about at your own pace. Maybe you could go shopping at the market, walk round the harbour walls or visit the 16th century Venetian fortress. A great day of discovery.

Une fois sur site, nous sommes équipés d'oreillettes, la visite sur une heure et demie dont trente minutes laissées à notre guise, bien suffisantes. Ensuite, tour en ville en liberté à Heraklion pendant 1h30. Un peu court pour le musée mais largement assez si on choisit de faire du shopping.
