The Picasso Museum contains an impressive collection of more than 5,000 works by Pablo Picasso including paintings, sculptures, engravings, prints and drawings. For its quality and scope as well as the range of art forms it encompasses, this collection is the only one in the world to present both Picasso’s complete painted, sculpted, engraved and illustrated œuvre and a precise record—through sketches, studies, drafts, notebooks, etchings in various stages, photographs, illustrated books, films and documents—of the artist’s creative process
TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS
PICASSO-RODIN
From May 19, 2021 to March 6, 2022
The exhibition invites a cross-reading of the works of Rodin (1840-1917) and Picasso (1881-1973), these two great artists who have had a lasting impact on the artistic practices of their time for generations to come. It is not a question of showing what Picasso borrowed from Rodin, but rather of examining the significant convergences which appear between Rodin’s work and several periods of Picasso’s production.
PICASSO IN THE IMAGE
From November 9, 2021 to February 5, 2023
“Picasso à l'image” combines archive images and extracts from major film projects (“Le Mystère Picasso”, in 1956) with the desire to show the artist in his environment, at work, with family, friends, in front of the camera and in the spotlight.
