If you fancy playing skipper for the day, why not embark on your own private speedboat cruise? With no licence or experience needed, you can set sail on a three-hour trip around Marathonisi Island – Zante's major nesting ground for loggerhead turtles. You'll be in charge of your own itinerary on this memorable day at sea, exclusively for you and your party.

Although the boat tour was organised through TUI, we had to organise our own taxi there and back. This could have been organised for us including an indication of price when we booked.

We hired a private boat with a skipper who's name was Panagiotis. We had the most wonderful experience. We were taken to see the turtles at a respectful distance, we stopped on turtle island to see the nesting grounds, we swam in the most beautiful turquoise waters and swam through caves to find hidden beaches. We even went off track to check out some of the impressive yachts nearby. Panagiotis absolutely made this experience for us and was worth every penny.
