Twenty meters below the surface and covering almost 300 kilometers, the Paris Catacombs are the final resting place of more than six million Parisians dating from the 18th century. These Catacombs are listed among Paris’s 14 museums, and you will see and appreciate, with the help of your guide, how the layers of skulls and bones lining the walls and arches are arranged in the Romantic style and divided by poems and literary passages.

Only 200 people can enter these Catacombs at a time, so by booking in advance and getting skip-the-line access it will ensure your entrance at the date and time of your choice. Your guide will meet you at the entrance to the catacombs. They will be holding a sign up to identify themselves. To arrive at the Catacombs by metro please take Line 4 or Line 6 to the Denfert-Rochereau metro stop and exit using “Sortie 1”; the entrance to the Catacombs can be found directly across the street from this exit.
