You're invited to the grandest bash of the year, as this summer's much-anticipated production offers another splendid serving of Golden Age musical theatre escapism.
Helen George, known for her roles in 'Call the Midwife' and 'The King and I', takes centre stage as the dazzling Tracy Lord. She is accompanied by stage and screen favourites Felicity Kendal, Freddie Fox and Julian Ovenden, renowned for their performances in 'Rosemary and Thyme', 'Slow Horses' and 'South Pacific' respectively. Carly Mercedes Dyer and Nigel Lindsay, both familiar faces at the Barbican, return to the venue, joined by Malcolm Sinclair.
You'll join the ensemble of 28 performers as preparations for the social event of the year spiral into mayhem. Old romances rekindle and new ones ignite amidst the chaos, whilst a keen-eyed gossip columnist prowls for scandal at the waterfront mansion.
This spectacle is brought to life by an acclaimed creative team, including Rachel Kavanaugh and choreographer Anthony Van Laast. High Society heralds the arrival of the summer season, following closely behind productions like 'Anything Goes' and 'Kiss Me, Kate'.
