What happens to my hotel booking?

You leave Stockholm in the morning and return in the early evening of day two. Your hotel booking stays as it is — you simply spend one night wild camping on an island instead of at your accommodation.

What is included in the price?

What is the best time of year to visit?

June to August offers the warmest water, longest daylight hours and calmest conditions. Late May and early September can also work, though nights are cooler.

Do I need to be fit for this experience?

Any fitness level is appropriate. The tour covers 25–40 km by kayak over two days at an easy, guided pace. No prior kayaking skill is required — a full briefing is provided.

Paddle between forested inlets, cook meals over an open fire and sleep on a secluded island shoreline with nothing but birdsong and the gentle lap of water for company. All camping gear and organic food are provided, you just bring the paddle power.

As the sun dips below the waterline, your island camp comes alive with the crackle of the campfire and the smell of dinner cooking over open flames. The tent sits metres from the water's edge on a quiet shoreline, and overhead the Scandinavian sky darkens into a blanket of stars. No light pollution, no noise, just the sound of the archipelago settling into night around you.

A short transfer from Stockholm brings you to the kayak centre in the central archipelago. After a safety briefing and paddling introduction, set off at an easy pace through sheltered channels and small islands. About two hours in, stop on a secluded island for lunch cooked over an open fire, with time for a swim if conditions allow. Continue deeper into the archipelago, past rocky outcrops, sandy stretches and dense shoreline forests, while your guide shares insights into the local wildlife and history. By late afternoon, find your wild camping spot on a quiet island shoreline. Dinner is cooked over the campfire, and the evening is yours by the flames.

Wake to birdsong and the gentle movement of water nearby. Breakfast is served by the shore before packing up camp and heading out on the kayak in calm morning conditions. After a couple of hours, pause for lunch and a short hike to a scenic viewpoint with sweeping archipelago views. The final stretch takes you through narrow channels and open waters back to the kayak station, with a return transfer to Stockholm in the early evening.
