La Palma Coast Cruise with Transfer

4.3/5
120 reviews

This glass bottom-catamaran cruise along La Palma's west coast takes you to spots that are almost impossible to reach by land. We'll sail into the Bonita Cave and see landmarks along the way. What's more, there's a chance to spot dolphins and catch sight of the recently erupted Cumbre Vieja volcano, too.

The fun kicks off when the Fancy II sails from Tazacorte harbour and heads northwards past volcanic cliffs with drops of more than 200 metres. We'll stop at the Bonita Cave – a large grotto with two mouths. Centuries ago, locals would hide here from pirates. The catamaran will sail right into the cave. Next up is Poris de Candelaria, where a few fishermen's huts have been built at the foot of cliffs.

We'll keep on sailing, passing the Colorada Cave and Poris de Puntagorda. With luck, we'll spot pods of dolphins and whales, which roam freely in La Palma's Atlantic waters.

The trip was great and we saw lots of dolphins and flying fish. Also enjoyed going in the cave. The crew staff were good although the man commentating spoke quite fast so was hard to understand at points with his Spanish accent. The toilet also ran out of toilet paper. Really enjoyed the trip. The coach ride and getting on the boat was seamless. My grown up children enjoyed it too and we have lots of videos of the dolphins. Thank you.

We had an amazing time. Even without the amazing dolphins that we saw, the trip was definitely still worthwhile looking at the amazing rock formations, houses built in the rocks and the caves. Wonderful trip.

Gave 9 overall, because of delayed transfer on way back with no air conditioning for nearly an hour, made us feel poorly. Otherwise trip and staff were amazing.

Didn't like having to pay extra for the transfer, it's usually included in the price. Also we were just dropped off at the harbour and not told where to go or what to do.

The staff on the boat itself where brilliant, very accommodating and knowledgeable, the boat trip itself was 10/10 the issue was the transfer, the driver spoke 0 English and us and the German groups had difficulty understanding if the pickup was for us and that driver had to use Google translate to try explain what he was doing. Other then that the trip itself was brilliant. Even a basic sign on the bus would have fixed this.

The rep told us the trip from hotel to port would be no more than an hour but because we had to go to another hotel to pick up took an hour and three quarters. She also said that 95% chance of seeing dolphins and 30% chance of seeing whales. We just about saw two whales and no dolphins. Whilst we appreciate that seeing dolphins could not be guaranteed the impression given was that we would see dolphins and not to do so was very disappointing. Overall it was disappointing and expensive trip
