Caminito del Rey hiking trail tour from the Costa del Sol

4.7/5
607 reviews

The Gaitanes Gorge is the must-see natural attraction in inland Malaga. This deep and steep canyon has a legendary walkway halfway up one of its vertical walls – the Caminito del Rey – which you'll get to trek on this full day tour.

After a scenic drive through the country, we'll stop off at a typical village for some free time to wander around its narrow, whitewashed-fringed streets. Then, don your walking boots as we set off on an 8km walk along the recently reopened Caminito del Rey, or King's Walkway. “It's hard to believe now, but this gorge was carved patiently by water over millions of years," says Becky, one of our expert local guides. "All this wild beauty is unique and . Nature took its time here.”

Departing from the pine-fringed reservoirs, you'll trek along a spectacular walkway pinned along the steep gorge walls. Your guide will give you an insight into its geological origins and fascinating historical past. Finally, at the end of the journey, you'll have a well-earned break in El Chorro for the chance to grab a spot of lunch.

Amazing experience. A definite. Must do bucket list. Well organised trip from start to finish. The Guides gave information and instructions over the intercom which we all had. Amazing views. If you remember Von Ryan’s express film where Frank Sinatra dies you will pass that green bridge at the end of walk. History

Too much waiting around to collect and discharge all passengers and waiting to start the walk. Informative guide on walk.

The hike was incredible, great overall experience. However, it took us over 3 hours to get there as we were staying in Estepona! It was not ideal for us to go up the coast to pick up from several other hotels as this added 2 hours before we even began to set off to Caminito Del Rey. The guide was great but I did not enjoy the German translation throughout the hike - the guide translated everything twice!

A perfect day in the hands of our skillful driver Sebastian and fabulous knowledgeable and humourous guide Hans. Caminito Del Ray is breathtakinly beautiful and not to be missed if you are staying in the area.

The TUI guide and driver were friendly, informative and professional. Caminito del Rey was stunning, we thoroughly enjoyed the walk from start to finish. There was nothing that we didn't like.
