Exploring Mexico just got a whole lot easier. On this full day adventure, you'll tick off no less than four different activities. Start with a guided visit of the archaeological site of Tulum, then head to a cenote for a swim. Next, it's off to Akumal for a spot of snorkelling. Round off your day with lunch at a beach club. Carmen, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The most photographed structure in the archaeological site is the Castillo, which is perched on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The Castillo might be the most famous, but there are plenty of other ancient Mayan ruins to explore, such as the Temple of the Descending God and the Temple of the Frescoes.'

The marvels of the Mayan culture will be revealed on your guided tour around Tulum. You'll learn about it's past as a walled city, and its former role as a trading hub. After the tour you'll have free time to explore at your leisure. Next, prepare to be dazzled by colours at an ancient Mayan cenote, a natural cave with a freshwater pool fed by underground water sources and considered sacred by the Mayans.

After a cooling swim, we'll head for the picturesque seaside community of Akumal, known for its laid-back atmosphere, natural beauty, and abundant marine life. With its intriguing underwater world, Akumal offers one of the best snorkelling experiences in the Riviera Maya. Encounter an array of tropical fish, corals, and perhaps even sea turtles. To complete your day, unwind and indulge in a tasty meal at a nearby beach club.

- 9:00am – arrive at the archaeological zone of Tulum

- 9:15am – guided visit to Tulum

- 10:00am – free time to explore the archaeological site

- 10:45am – depart for the cenote

- 11:10am – arrive at the cenote and explore

- 12:00pm – depart for Akumal

- 12:30pm – arrive in Akumal for a snorkelling activity

- 1:30pm – depart for the beach club

- 2:00pm – arrive at the beach club and have lunch

- 3:30pm – transfer back to your hotel

Damian was very knowledgable sharing lots of interesting facts and information. He was funny and made us feel at ease by explaining everything so we knew what to expect. Maybe advise people that some of the roads are terrible in case they suffer from travel sickness

The trip was far too long, we were collected at 6:40am and then travelled to 2 more hotels to collect other people. We then went to the Tour office in Playa Del Carmen to collect the tour guide, drop off 2 people who were going on a different tour and wait for another couple who were on our tour. We waited approximately 1 hour. We then drove to Tulum at the busiest time of the day., arriving at 9:30, Nearly 3 hours after pick up. The 3 experiences are too far apart, and lunch wasn’t until 2:30pm

A very enjoyable well guided experience. Our only negative would be the beach club, which added an unnecessary 2 hours to the trip. The sea water was brown (presumably due to the seaweed) so not inducive for swimming. food was adequate and the club itself a combination of shacks and portaloo cabins. The time would be better spent split between the Tulum ruins, cenote and Turtle swim.

Lalo, the guide, was brilliant he was very engaging and made everyone feel welcome and ensured no one was left out of the group. He kept to the itinerary yet ensured all were happy with the experiences. Best part was the turtles, fabulous, although a tad busy with other groups.

Didn’t have enough free time to walk round ruins, only had 20 minutes which wasn’t long enough, but was then rushed to the gift shop area and given 30-40 minutes to look at souvenirs that were the same as everywhere else. Everyone we spoke to didn’t have time to read about each ruin and take photos, spoilt the day.
