Black River and YS Falls Tour

4.4/5
514 reviews

Jamaica's longest river, Black River, is a tropical wildlife haven. Spend time on its languid waters with this full day tour, taking in ancient mangrove swamps and prehistoric crocodiles and having a refreshing dip in the waterfall pools of the famous YS Falls.

You'll take a scenic drive through densely forested mountains before climbing aboard your pontoon boat. Drift silently downriver, soaking up the sights and sounds of the jungle – all the while learning about the ecosystem's specific wildlife from your local guide.

Glide past huge mangroves and beady-eyed crocodiles peeping from the water, which your guide will lure to the surface for some great photo ops by tossing food from the boat. Finish your trip at the beautiful, cascading waters of the YS Falls, where you'll cool off in the refreshing waters of one of its natural pools.

The time at each part was extremely short. We did not feel either were worth the 3 hour journey. The YS falls was like an unsafe conveyor belt, the falls staff rush people along taking photos they want to take with no time to take in the surroundings. By the time e you get to the top it is time to get dry, dressed and back on the bus. The meal provided at black river was nice enough, the trip along the river was informative. The 3 hour journey back to resort was uncomfortable. Times felt unsafe

There wasn’t enough time at YS falls only had about 1 hour 15 mins. The driver was dangerous!! I have been to Jamaica several times and experienced Jamaican driving…. this guy was taking unnecessary risks, dangerous overtaking and not driving to the road conditions. When it is raining heavy you need to slow down! The young family sat in front of us were seriously concerned for their lives! When they raised concerns the tour guide just laughed and said he was a safe driver! Not good enough!

One of the guides there took us round the waterfalls safely and iffer to take our photos. Our tour guide on the bus was brilliant and very knowledgeable about the country and its history

Great day out. Beautiful location. The Black River boat captain was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The journey in the bus was fast, bumpy and uncomfortable at times. Do they need to go so fast?

Travelling time quite long. Tui should make it clear that water shoes are required rather than suitable footwear Too much time spent at Dunn Falls
