Turin guided chocolate tour with bicerin and gianduiotto

Discover Turin through its history and its long-standing chocolate tradition on this guided tour. As you explore the city's streets, you'll learn how it played a role in shaping Italian identity while developing a reputation for refined chocolate-making.

Your experience begins with a taste of bicerin, a traditional hot drink once enjoyed in the cafés and patisseries of the 19th century. From here, you'll stroll between historic venues and pass landmarks such as Piazza Vittorio Veneto and Teatro Gianduja, taking in the elegant atmosphere that defines Turin.

Along the way, you'll be introduced to local chocolatiers and their craft, with the chance to sample some of the city's most recognisable creations. These include gianduiotto, a smooth blend of hazelnuts and milk chocolate created when cocoa was scarce, and cremino, known for its distinctive layered texture. You'll also taste a selection of seasonal pralines that reflect local traditions.

As you continue walking, you'll arrive at Piazza San Carlo, where your guide will share stories and insights into the city's past. The tasting concludes with premium dark chocolate made from criollo cocoa, one of the rarest varieties used in chocolate production. Throughout the tour, your guide will explain each tasting and share details about the ingredients, preparation and traditions behind them.
