This is what a Lapland Christmas is all about. Where else can your family go on a husky trail with elves? Accompanied by a team of dedicated elves, your trail begins at a husky camp where you'll gain a wonderful insight into the lives and training of these friendly, hard-working Arctic dogs.

First up, you'll learn all about huskies while keeping cosy around the campfire. Then, it's time for a breathtaking sleigh ride. One of you will take the reins while your passengers – a maximum of three people can fit on the sleigh – settle down for the exciting ride.

Over in Rovaniemi – excluding Winter Wonderland Hotel – it's a bit different, with all guests climbing aboard a big sleigh driven by an experienced guide. All in all, a great family experience.

The overall experience was good but over priced for the amount of time you get to go on the sleigh.

Being able to control the sledge was amazing! The trail was longer than expected so very worth the price of the excursion. Children also enjoyed meeting some of the huskies afterwards.

We loved the husky ride and the whole holiday. The only thing was I did not get keys for our room till 3 it was a waste of a day as we could not just leave our bags and relax and explore. The day was over. Also I am glad we went to scv on the sat aswell as we were able to do a reindeer sleigh ride which we would not have been able to on the Sunday am for one hour as was closed. We did not know and would have missed out. The finale dinner was no options for children. Lapland for kids ??

The whole experience was brilliant myself and my 12 year old son really enjoyed it. The Tui reps were great and very helpful. I did feel at times experiences were a little rushed but over all great and so magical. One other downside was the food at the hotel this could be a little better and more choices for kids. The hotel itself is great plenty to do. Staff very friendly and helpful. But Joe and Maile the Tui reps we thought were great and always happy to help with any queries. My son who is 12 loved them and it made his holiday. The elves I thought were fantastic. Basically I would recommend the whole experience. We got to do so much in 4 days ???? We made some lovely friends too and that’s all down to the lovely atmosphere. Amazing experience ????

Important to know

Husky safaris are not suitable for children under two years old to take part in - infants are welcome to come on the experience and stay at the farm being supervised by a paying adult, but they may not go on the husky sleigh ride
Children travel with their parents on one sleigh with a maximum of either four adults or two adults and two or three children per sleigh depending on their size
For guests at Winter Wonderland, one adult is standing behind a sleigh as a controller/driver and one is sitting on a sleigh as a passenger. Due to safety reasons drivers are not changed during this family designed safari when there are children in the sleigh
For guests in Rovaniemi city, all guests climb aboard a big sleigh driven by an experienced guide
The husky ride is approximately 20-25 minutes
Not suitable for expectant mothers
