Your route

What makes the night special

The luxury tents at Tocu sit within the Caño Negro wetlands, surrounded by forest on all sides. From your terrace, you'll look out over a lagoon where birdlife is never far away. After dark, the sounds of the forest take over and you fall asleep to them. By morning, birdsong replaces it, and the camp feels like somewhere you've known for days. With two nights here, there's plenty of time to slow down and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Your morning starts with a hands-on conservation activity as you plant your own tree. Guided by your hosts, you'll learn how reforestation helps protect the wetlands that surround the camp, while making your own contribution to this unique ecosystem. In the afternoon, you can explore Caño Negro from a different perspective with a choice of experiences, including a natural history walk, a birdwatching tour, an eco-cruise along the Río Frío or a Costa Rican cooking class.
