Das 2025 eröffnete Grand Egyptian Museum – oder GEM, wie es auch genannt wird – ist das größte Museum der Welt, das einer einzigen Zivilisation gewidmet ist. Auf dieser Reise wirst du zwischen mehr als 100.000 Artefakten umherwandern, die in einem modernen Raum ausgestellt sind, der die Vergangenheit Ägyptens zum Leben erweckt. Noura, eine unserer ortskundigen Reiseleiterinnen, sagt: „Bei diesem TUI Collection Erlebnis ist alles ganz einfach: Es geht mit dem Flugzeug von Sharm nach Kairo, Sie sehen die Pyramiden aus der Nähe, besuchen das GEM und schauen sich die Schätze von Tutanchamun mit Experten an, die die Geschichten dahinter erzählen.“
Das Abenteuer beginnt in Sharm El Sheikh, wo Sie von Ihrer Unterkunft abgeholt und zum Flughafen gebracht werden. Nach einem kurzen Flug nach Kairo geht es direkt weiter zum Gizeh-Plateau, wo sich die Pyramiden und die Große Sphinx befinden. Die Pyramiden und die Große Sphinx wurden vor über 4.500 Jahren erbaut und dienten den Pharaonen Cheops, Chephren und Menkaure als königliche Grabstätte. Sie haben Zeit, die Anlage zu durchstreifen und unter der Sphinx zu stehen, die seit Jahrtausenden ein Auge auf die Besucher wirft. Danach gibt es in einem Lokal Mittagessen.
Dann ist es Zeit für das GEM selbst. Es geht die Große Treppe hinauf und an 64 riesigen Monumenten vorbei, die die Besucher durch den Aufstieg der größten Könige Ägyptens führen. Auf dem Weg durch die Galerien die umliegenden Gärten erleben Besucher auf faszinierende Art und Weise das alte Ägypten. Sie sehen auch die Tutanchamun-Galerie, in der über 5.000 seiner Schätze zum ersten Mal seit ihrer Entdeckung im Jahr 1922 Seite an Seite ausgestellt sind. Nach einem ereignisreichen Tag voller atemberaubender Geschichte geht es zurück nach Sharm.

Guide driver and security in Cairo were absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable, helpful and entertaining. On return to Sharm we were kept waiting a lot longer than we should have because one person didn't communicate properly with the reps regarding transport back to his hotel, but they were constantly on the phone to each other trying to locate him and I was glad to see they didn't just leave him stranded. This didn't dampen our amazing trip and would recommend to anyone in the future

Guide Manil from Travco was excellent, made the day run smooth + with everything, should be commended. Security gentleman was excellent, ensured the group did not get separated, helped us all, + made us feel safe, + he commended. All staff were excellent. They pyramids, sphinx, + GEM were excellent + the highlight of the trip. Food very good. Negative- flight was delayed, so we lost atleast 4 hrs from the trip, and cant see how this occurs on a route like this. Also childrens same as adults

Absolutely fantastic day. Glad the pick up had changed to 6am and not 4am. This is the 2nd time of doing this excursion with yourselves and 4am is way to early as you are so tired and struggle to enjoy the day. Nice touch that you can buy water and soft drinks in the coach. Great idea. Guide Jimmy was helpful and informative but did talk alot while we were standing in the hot sun. He is obviously very passionate but maybe find some shade. This is not a criticism but maybe a good idea.

Very long day with information overload. Plane and transfers superb but was scammed at Sharm el Sheikh airport because of visa. I had purcheased them on line prior to our holiday but was told i had to pay £35 which they took off me in cash and gave no receipt. We were not the only family this happened to

There was a delay of 2 hours at the airport for technical issues apparently, although this impacted the overall time aspect of the trip, this is not the fault of the tour company’s, however every other parts of the trip was absolutely amazing, totally organised and professional, tour guide Mohey I think his name was, was so knowledgeable and passionate about his job and so friendly and helpful, security guard with us all day, not that I felt we needed but nice to have. Pyramids were amazing.
