Tunisian pirate boat trip from Hammamet

3.8/5
70 reviews

Many are the places that trade on their pirate past, but few can actually match Tunisia's authentic heritage in this department. Now you can immerse yourself in this swashbuckling world with a family-friendly day at sea on board a replica pirate galley.

Your adventure begins the moment we sail from Hammamet Harbour into the Mediterranean, just as the Barbary pirates did for centuries. But while they struck fear into European coastal communities as far afield as Iceland, we'll be going out to have wholehearted fun, and lots of it. There's music and pirate shows as the kids channel their inner Captain Hook on this replica Barbary pirate galley.

There'll be plenty of time to top up your tan in the sun too, as you sail along the Tunisian coastline. You'll see sweeping golden beaches, pretty fishing villages and you might even pick out the fortress walls of the historic Medina before you head out into the Med. It's an exciting morning for the whole family, as you sail the high seas on this pirate adventure and stop for a dip in the deep blue.

Well organised, there was a small delay in getting in the boat but generally worked well, not too many people on the ship to feel like it was overcrowded either and good value for money

Boat was extremely overcrowded resulting in no where to sit. The entertainment as the trip started was good, staff were in character but all other entertainment was not child friendly. The staff (pirates) were more interested in grabbing their privates and girating infront of young women so not gor children. Getting on and off the boat to swim was chaotic and dangerous people being pulled under the water so others could get back on the boat. Constantly trying to sell you stuff but pushy with it.

Coach being late arriving at the port, having to queue for 35 minutes, in the blistering sunshine and the chronic shortage of life jackets, resulting in only enjoying only 5 minutes of the swim stop. Your Tui rep said that one drink would be free, which wasn't the case. We were appalled that a wheel chair customer was assigned to our coach, which was an indignifying experience for the family. Although we noted that suitable disabled taxi was organised for the family's return. Needs improvement.

No safety information given on board. Everyone was crammed on & then you could only see thr sail away show if you were sat near it, no other way to be part of it because of how many people were on board. No refreshments were offered even though the ticket said it was included.
