From a Roman amphitheatre that once held 35,000 spectators to a Star Wars film set still standing among the desert dunes, this two-day tour crosses southern Tunisia in one sweep. You'll walk through underground cave homes that doubled as Luke Skywalker's house, cross Chott el Jerid's vast salt lake by road and spend the night in Douz, the oasis town known as the gateway to the Sahara. A local expert guide brings the film history, archaeology and desert culture together across both days. Douz is an oasis town on the edge of the Sahara, known as the gateway to the desert. After a day of Roman ruins, underground homes and driving through sand dunes, the evening brings the option of a camel or carriage ride into the desert before settling in for the night. Loved it all! Our guide was phenomenal providing a wealth of information and insight into Tunisia. Lunch breaks were a little short for us as we like to take a little longer than most. People touting for business when you stop is hard to deal with initially as someone not used to it, but you get the hang of saying no firmly.

This experience caters for all tastes. It embraces history and gives a true understanding of Tunisia. There's also a great deal of fun. Camel rides and the excitement of a 4WD ride across a salt lake and over the dunes. There's plenty of travelling buy it's worth every penny

10/10 experience. Mohamed, the guide, was incredible, effortlessly switching between English and German with wealths of info. The driver was excellent; felt safe all way. Only minor issue: at 6'4", the bus was tight, but expected. To negative reviewers: read the description. They clearly state drinks aren't included and it involves long driving hours. Plenty of stops though—cash, coffee, photos. I even smoked 2 packs in 2 days. Worth every penny. Will do this again in a few years.

The driver and tour guide were excellent. My only concern is the restaurant where we had lunch on the 1st day We were crammed onto tables with strangers although there were free tables all around The lunch was quite poor in quality. However the main issue was that we were served a starter, main and desert expected to eat from one plate The empty dishes were not removed and the waiters struggled to find space to put food down. They did not collect used dishes. I think basic training needed

It was the most amazing trip we have experienced the views the guides knowledge the driver all 10/10 The only down side was the overnight hotel which had a power cut (we know it couldn't be helped) but in 57° heat no Aircon it was rough shower by touch light was an experience in it's self :) Totally recommended had an amazing time life long experience
