Fuerteventura sand dunes discovery tour

4.2/5
218 reviews

With Fuerteventura so close to Lanzarote, you'll be able to hop over for a day of sightseeing. And this full day tour promises just that. You'll catch the fast ferry over in the morning then spend the day exploring the north coast, including El Cotillo, Corralejo and the white sand dunes of Corralejo Natural Park.

Transport's all sorted – you'll be picked up by bus and taken to Playa Blanca from where the fast ferry to Fuerteventura departs. Then once you're on the other side, you'll firstly venture to the fishing village of El Cotillo to stretch your legs with a stroll along the beachfront.

Your next stop will be the seaside resort of Corralejo to enjoy some free time for lunch at one of the seafood restaurants before a scenic drive is on the cards. You'll travel into Corralejo Natural Park, which is home to the largest stretch of sand dunes in the Canary Islands. Climb to the top of one for a photo, then wind down your day at the beach before heading back.

A bit too long in Corralejo, just about right in El Cotillo, needed a bit longer at the Sand Dunes. Tour guide needs to move at the speed of the slowest person, not seemingly the fastest, as if El Cotillo had been crowded then we would have lost her.

Should have brought us around more of the island center. There was nothing to see on this tour but the guide did her best.

Well spaced out stops, given plenty of time to explore. Brilliant informative and funny guide, made the trip! Depending on where you are picked up &dropped off, can be a long day though!

We didn't find Fuerteventura as interesting as we expected, nothing wrong with the tour and pleased we've been there. The guide was excellent and spoke several languages fluently. The double decker tour bus was good but a bit of a scrabble to get on and off just like the fast ferry, but that's the type of people on the tour.

The Tour we felt was an over priced for what it was. The weather didn’t help, but on a sunny day, it wouldn’t have changed our opinion on the trip. There was nothing at the village we stopped at, so just pointless and a waste of time. The main event at Carrelajo, glad we didn’t holiday here!! But we wanted to see it as have never been so put it down to an experience we won’t be doing again. The dunes were a 10 minute stop so it was no Maspolomas!! Other passengers we spoke to unhappy too.

The bus used to travel around Fuerteventura for the entire day was the dirtiest bus we have ever seen in our lives. We had to stay in it almost all day, breathing in dust. It was clearly never cleaned, filthy inside and even damaged on the outside, with smashed parts. It was honestly terrible and very uncomfortable. The guide was completely useless. When we booked the trip, it was presented as including places such as “Popcorn Beach”. In reality, we never saw it. When we asked the guide about it
