Vereda do Larano is an awesome hike. This ancient path was used to connect the north and the south of Madeira between Machico and Porto da Cruz.

Diese Tour an der Nordküste war sehr abwechslungsreich. Einige Kilometer wanderten wir entlang einer Levada mit schönem Ausblick, dann ging es einen Berg hoch und wir kamen zur Steilküste. Tolle Ausblicke. Genügend Zeit für Fotos. Dieser Steilküstenweg ist spektakulär und ein Muss bei einem Madeira Aufenthalt . Ruben ist ein ganz besonders toller Führer. Er hat uns so viel erzählt und alle Fragen ausführlich beantwort.Obwohl in Englisch gebucht, hat es ihm Spaß gemacht auch deutsch zu sprechen.

Gids Ruben vertelt veel over het landschap, de levada's en de natuur. Prachtige omgeving, eerste deel langs een levada, met prachtig uitzicht over de vallei. Daarna een stukje klimmen, hogerop. Na de lunch verder langs een fenomenaal kustpad, erg mooi. Deze tocht was minder druk en toeristisch, maar de mooiste die we gelopen hebben.

De wandeling was erg mooi. Mooie vergezichten langs de kustlijn. Het eerste stuk (ongeveer 1 uur) was alleen klimmen, hierna redelijk vlak tot de picknickplaats. Na de picknickplaats was het ongeveer nog een uurtje met voornamelijk dalen. Erg mooie wandeling, over de kliffen, met mooie uitzichten. Minpuntje was de reis met het minibusje heen en terug. Deze was helemaal volgepropt en het minibusje is gemaakt voor Portugezen, maar elders in Europa zijn de mensen wat langer.
