Our guide, Tim, was very informative throughout the walk, and very conscious of our safety throughout. He even gave advise to other hikers on the trail if he thought they were being a bit casual about their safety! The walk itself is stunning, with breath-taking scenary and plenty of fantastic views. My only advice would be 1) this walk is not suitable for those who suffer vertigo, 2) wear sensible footwear, at the very least decent walking shoes and 3) make sure you have a waterproof jacket!

An amazing mountain walk from start to finish. Margarida, our guide, was amazing throughout; both attentive and informative. She checked that we were all well equipped with enough water, sun cream & suitable walking attire as this is a challenging walk and, as long as you are equipped for it and walking fit, then I strongly recommend it. We’ve completed quite a few full day walks in Madeira and this is now our favourite. We were lucky with the weather too. Tiago was our driver and was also fab!
