Important to know

Please arrive at least 30-minutes prior to your experience time to allow for safety briefings
For safety reasons, expectant mothers of more than five months can't participate, however expectant mothers of less than five months can participate in this experience only if accompanied by another adult and after signing a waiver
Infants from one to five years old with a height of up to 119cm and minors from age six to 12 years old with a height of up to 120cm may participate in the manatee experience when accompanied by one paying adult
To protect the reef, suncream, even reef safe and biodegradable suncreams, are not allowed, so consider wearing a rash vest or swimming gear with full coverage for sun protection
The government tax for activities involving swimming with marine animals in dolphinariums is not included. It is paid directly at check-in: MXN $50 per person (from 6 years onwards). The funds collected from this tax go directly toward the protection of marine species in Quintana Roo.
Transportation can be booked with an additional charge of MXN $250 per person from hotels in Riviera Maya or MXN $500 per person from hotels in Cancun downtown and hotel zone or MXN $600 per person from hotels in Puerto Juarez, Costa Mujeres and Playa Mujeres, this needs to be paid during check-in
There's a dock fee of MXN $200 per person to be paid during check-in
Life jackets are included and mandatory
For safety reasons, the use of cameras in the water is not allowed, however an individual photo package is available
Just so you know, the last manatee program of the day is not available to combine with a catamaran trip
Remember to bring swimwear, a towel and extra money for photos, souvenirs or tips

Everything ran smoothly, the pickup and welcome at the centre was great. The actual experience was so well carried out. The staff were so knowledgeable and wanted you to have the best time. I swam with manatees, such an amazing memory.

I enjoyed listening to the guide about the manatee the food was absolutely lovely. However I was charged extra money for transport not so happy about that and the photographer was very pushy about buying photos which I absolutely coukd not afford made me feel terrible

We really enjoyed the manatee experience, however we weren’t expecting the extra costs that were involved. We were charged for the taxi and another tax. Also you’re not allowed a phone so the only photos are the ones they take which cost a fortune. Who doesn’t want a photo of this experience, so you have no choice but to buy them

Mike our Manatee expert was great, our experience was fun and educational. There was a cheeky young manatee who kept interrupting our session (she was in fact the highlight and had us laughing). I would recommend this to anybody with animal mad children as the Manatees really were the sweetest most gentle creatures ever.
