If ever a song defined a region, it has to be 'O Sole Mio. This most Neapolitan of songs is among the repertoire performed by The Three Tenors in the sumptuous surroundings of an 18th-century villa in Sorrento. Prepare to wowed – this is no ordinary show.

Arrive early and have a poke around the venue. The Museo Correale di Terranova is a lavish palace crammed with lots of sculptures and gold-framed portraits of baroque barons. The setting is unbeatable. And when the show begins, you're transported to a musical world that fills the room with the sounds of Naples and Italy.

Feel the music flow through you as your three tenors perform accompanied by a cellist, violinist and pianist. Evocative opera arias by greats such as Verdi, Donizetti and Puccini are complemented by Neapolitan songs – ‘O Sole Mio – and contemporary classics by the likes of Andrea Bocelli. An evening full of atmosphere and emotions.

Due to the performance being held in the museum with such a limited number of seats, it felt like the ideal location and in some ways a personal recital. The only small downside was that you had to pay by cash for the pre-performance drinks.

My friend has been so we knew there were pre-drinks available in the gardens and that it was in an air conditioner museum but I think it would have been good to inform people of this in the trip info. The drink choices were very limited Prosecco, water or a pre-bottled Aperol spritz, (this we found disappointing as it’s easy to make locally). The 3 Tenors + musicians were amazing and made it an enjoyable performance for all ages (we had a 15 & 18 yr old), had some humour in it but emotional too.

Beautiful venue, both inside and outside. The 3 Tenors were amazing and amusing Small numbers of audience making, performance easy to see, hear and more personal. The venue was out of central Sorrento and we were told it was a 10 minute walk to the venue. My husband has mobility issues, which the Rep was advised of, it was quite tricky for him walking and took a lot longer than 10 minutes. We ended up ordering a taxi from the venue to return to the hotel. Staff very helpful.

I don’t think you could improve this more, we had a lovely evening the three tenors were excellent, I would recommend this to everyone.
