Bodrum day trip with transport and optional guided city tour

3.8/5
1303 reviews

Why settle for just seeing Greece while you're here? Turkey's just a short distance away and this trip offers a great taste of its culture and sights. Your adventure kicks off with a quick ride across the Aegean to Bodrum, a picturesque town nestled between two bays and divided by a historic crusader castle – it's like stepping into a postcard.

Once you arrive, you can choose between a guided tour or exploring on your own. If you go for the tour, you'll hit all of Bodrum's main landmarks and best viewpoints, with plenty of chances to snap photos of the town and its yacht-filled harbour from above. There's a chance to take a look at the old town's bustling bazaar, too.

Feeling more like a solo explorer? Shopping-wise, you'll be spoilt for choice, with every street loaded with shops and stalls selling spices, carpets and leather goods. Haggle your heart out, sip on Turkish coffee or just soak up the sights and sounds before boarding the boat for your return.

Too much time queuing and waiting around and too much time in Bodrum itself as there’s not that much to do to fill the hours, not really my cup of tea but wanted to experience Turkey. M not a fan of being hassled by shopkeepers or being beckoned into cafes and restaurants. Also a bit of a pain trying to convert the Turkish lira to euros and wondering if you’re being ripped off or not. On the whole i personally would not do this again

Considerable time spent queuing for border security on both sides Interesting town with plenty to see, great food. Variety of shops but the sellers can be quite pushy.

The TUI guide Doris kept a very large party, of multiple nationalities, organised and informed. Timings where clearly defined at each end for the ferry and they checked on every guest at each end of the ferry. We never took the option for the guided tour around Bodrum but it is available.

Trip was very well organised. Ferry was good . Bodrum very hot . Lots of shops near harbour, some very pushy sales men . But don’t pay the price they want bring them down to your price. Some nice shops with genuine salespeople. Overall friendly, the only downside is where the bus drops you off in kos . You have to walk all the way around the harbour at lease 10 to 15 minutes in the hot sun. Impressed buy TUI organisers.

Firstly, identifying the pick up point was confusing - meet at main road. Secondly, once the bus arriving into Kos town we were told it was a 20 min walk to the port, we didn't know this and had a buggy in tow. It was also a 20 min walk when we returned. The ticket distribution was shambolic. They had the wrong details and were handed out by tui staff. They then needed replaced. The TUI staff then seemed to go away, with us not really knowing where to go/meet/time to return etc. Bad form!

12 hour day which included 3 1/2 hours in bodrum itself. Bodrum passport control system failed for over an hour with no communication with us waiting outside in the sun with no resources and no information. 90% of the day was spent waiting in queues with people pushing in with no regard for others, communication at passport control was poor. Overall slow and painful day was not what we expected.
