Seated in the airy Great Court Restaurant under the Museum’s famous glass roof you will sip on a bubbly glass of Prosecco as your afternoon tea experience begins. There’s no better way to kick-off the afternoon!

Begin with finger sandwiches with Wilshire ham and farmhouse chutney, smoked salmon and cream cheese, Coronation chicken and celery and egg mayo and mustard cress. Then you’ll get to indulge with a delicious variety of macaroons, chocolate Jaffa cake, meringue torte and more.

The Great Court Restaurant is an oasis of calm in the center of Bloomsbury and a beautiful place to enjoy this great British tradition.

The tea itself was excellent. However we didn't get any Prosecco as advertised which was disappointing. When we received the bill at the end, we saw that the museum was charging less to Musement than what we had paid! Musement made 13£ out of our reservation. This should be reimbursed to us.

I had booked this afternoon tea to celebrate my oldest friend's 80th birthday. We first met on the first day at primary school when we were five years old and have been friends ever since. The afternoon tea was such a treat.

This was a truly enjoyable experience. We had our own shelf tiered platter of delicious sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. We also each had our own tea kettle and glass of Prosecco. Such a nice time.

Remember that afternoon tea is only served from 3.00pm to 4.30pm, the kitchen closes at 5.00pm. Anyone arriving after that time will not be able to receive afternoon tea
The afternoon tea is for those who have purchased it only - if two or more people are planning to consume it, then a booking for two or more must be made
