Glencoe and the Glenfinnan Viaduct tour from Edinburgh

Leaving Edinburgh behind, you'll journey north, passing iconic landmarks such as Stirling Castle on your way into the Highlands. As you cross the Highland Boundary Line, you'll see the landscape transform from the gentle Lowlands to the rugged, forested glens of the Trossachs National Park. This land of lochs and misty hills was once home to the famed outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor, whose legend still echoes through these glens. There will be time for a short break in the charming town of Callander before continuing deeper into the Highlands.

Travelling through the wild, open landscapes of Rannoch Moor, you'll arrive at Glencoe, one of Scotland's most iconic natural landscapes. Known for its dramatic, rugged slopes, this beautiful area has been featured in films and is steeped in history. A driver-guide will share one of Scotland’s most tragic tales as you take in the awe-inspiring scenery.

Following this, there will be a stop for a leisurely lunch in one of the scenic local towns.

Post-lunch, your journey continues to Glenfinnan, a magnificent glen nestled among mountains and overlooking Loch Shiel. It’s home to two icons - the Glenfinnan Monument and the Glenfinnan Viaduct, beloved by fans of a certain wizard-themed book series.

Here, you’ll have time to reflect on the Jacobite Uprising of 1745 and explore the monument. Keep an eye out for the steam train that occasionally crosses the viaduct.
