Kusadasi shopping trip

3.4/5
81 reviews

Turkey is renowned for its shopping and for being a haggler's paradise, and on this morning out from Kusadasi, you'll see exactly why. With visits to a gold centre, a Turkish shopping centre and the bustling stalls of a local market, even the most ardent shopper will be satisfied.

First up on this guided shopping morning is a trip to a renowned gold jewellery centre, where something shiny might well catch your eye. Then it's time to practise your haggling skills amid the heaving stalls of Selçuk or Kusadasi market – and don't be shy about it, the vendors expect it.

The rest of this shopping tour includes some free time to peruse the teeming shops and stalls of the bazaar and a pit stop at a superstore – perfect for Turkish presents, souvenirs, and – of course – Turkish delight.

Whilst set for half a day, there were visits to two different vendors. A jewellers and a Turkish delight factory. Perhaps you only need one of these. Two hours at the market is probably too long. 90 minutes maximum would be suggested. Not much else to do (other than the supermarket) nearby. Perhaps pick up/ drop off could be nearer a better restaurant for food etc if possible. Esra was great as a guide but limited as what she can do on this trip.

When the rep was talking about trips he said it was 45 min bus trip - he didn’t say we would be dropped off to catch another bus so the whole journey was actually 1h 30 mins

The tour we felt was sold as we were going to see a Turkish delight factory so assumed we were going to see it been made as that what it sounded like. But it was just a shop , same as the jewllery shop. Was a disappointing tour and wish had saved our money so could have done a different tour

The 2 stops were OK but the store assistants were persistent to the point of being annoying. Didn't get to see any of the sites in the market city. Perhaps less time at the outlets would have allowed more time to explore the market city. Even a city tour would have been advantageous,

We enjoyed the sweet factory, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The market was interesting.
