Kusadasi shopping trip

3.4/5
68 reviews

Turkey is renowned for its shopping and for being a haggler's paradise, and on this morning out from Kusadasi, you'll see exactly why. With visits to a gold centre, a Turkish shopping centre and the bustling stalls of a local market, even the most ardent shopper will be satisfied.

First up on this guided shopping morning is a trip to a renowned gold jewellery centre, where something shiny might well catch your eye. Then it's time to practise your haggling skills amid the heaving stalls of Selçuk or Kusadasi market – and don't be shy about it, the vendors expect it.

The rest of this shopping tour includes some free time to peruse the teeming shops and stalls of the bazaar and a pit stop at a superstore – perfect for Turkish presents, souvenirs, and – of course – Turkish delight.

Bus staff & guide very friendly and helpful. Gold/Jewellery place nice did felt a little pushed by staff to purchase didn’t have time to browse alone. Turkish delight place very pleasant staff very friendly and didn’t try pushing you for a sale. The market very intimidating with people jumping at you to look at their stools.

Time at market was sufficient. The Turkish Delight shop stop was better than expected with no hard sell. We weren't particularly interested in the gold shop but presume others on the trip were.

I’m sure if it what you want then it’s fine, but having visited Turkey a number of times, this market is a lot of the same over and over and over, not much variety.

We didn't like the hard sell at the jewellery store, we were followed around and felt pressured to buy. It was marketed as a shopping trip, but after twenty minutes in the market most people were sat outside bored as there was nothing else to do in the area. The restaurant that we were told to meet at was dirty and the toilets were disgusting. The tour guide was really good though and we enjoyed her services, unfortunately we did not enjoy the destination.
