Gorée Island is a tropical paradise, an enchanting island with a rich colonial heritage. You will enjoy a 20-minute ferry ride from Pointe Sarène to the island and discover its highlights in just one day, from the House of Slaves to St Charles Church and the Senegal Historical Museum.
Off the coast of Senegal, in front of Dakar, Gorée was the largest trading center on the African coast from the 15th to the 19th century. Its architecture is characterized by the contrast between the dark quarters of slaves and the elegant houses of slave traders.
You will dive into the cultural heritage of the island as you explore the narrow streets lined with multicolored houses and painters' workshops. You will take in the view of Dakar from the Memorial of Slaves and, after lunch, you will visit the Senegal Historical Museum with your guide.
