The Red Route is designed to show you all of Rome's most famous landmarks, from the Colosseum to the Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain to the Vatican. Learn about the history of the Eternal City thanks to the recorded commentary available in 7 different languages, and take advantage of a self-guided walking tour available for download from the Vox POPGuide App.

Download the app and enjoy the self-guided tours or just listen to the information about the hundreds of sights these tickets will give you access to, and discover the entire city on bus and on foot. The walking tour application is also available offline once you have downloaded it.

  • Children aged 4 and under can attend the tour for free
  • The digital walking tours are available in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Chinese or Russian
  • Recorded commentary on the bus available in English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Bazilian Portuguese and Mandarin
  • The Red Route lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes and operates daily from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm from April to October and from 9:00 to 6:00 pm from November to March, every 10-15 minutes
  • The 72-hour ticket option includes a Panoramic Night Tour, available from 29th March to 31st October. Night Tour departs at 8:20 pm and 8:30 pm. Please note that the Night Tour is a panoramic tour, not a hop-on, hop-off tour

Bus tour: You can hop on the bus and start your tour at any of the bus stops along the route. Alternately, join at Stop 1 - Termini Railway Station, Via Giovanni Giolitti, 32, 00185 Rome, Italy. Please note that there is a new redemption point located at the official Information Centre in Via delle Terme di Diocleziano 34. This new location serves as an additional redemption point alongside all Big Bus stops, including the main terminal at Stop #1, Termini Station. Digital walking tours: Rome of the Emperors starts from Stops #3 or #5; Secret Rome starts from Stop #6; Squares & Fountains starts from Stops #5 and #8; La Dolce Vita starts from Stop #7.

    It was useful using the bus but the city centre is quite compact and I often walked to attractions and in hindsight I booked a 72 hour ticket and I think a 24 hour ticket for my first day would have been more suitable.

    Big Bus Tours give maps and headsets. Each bus had a different commentary so made listening each time worthwhile. The App allows you to see where the buses were to work out how long you had to wait. Really cant wait to try in another city.
