The third-largest Greek island in the Aegean Sea, the ever-photogenic Lesbos has lots to see. Experience a trio of top things to do here in just one tour. There'll be a chance to visit Papadellis olive oil producer, a stop at the mountain village of Agiassos and free time to explore in Mytilini town. Daphne, one of our expert local guides, says "olives have been grown on Lesbos since the Bronze Age, so there's thousands of years of expertise and agricultural history for you to learn about during your tour."

The day starts in the traditional village of Agiassos, famous for its potteries and woodcarvings, the Virgin Mary church and the ‘cafenions' – Greek coffee houses. Here you'll have free time to explore and sip a coffee. Lesbos is famed for its top-quality oils, so at the Papadelis family's olive oil company you'll get the lowdown on the local tradition of olive cultivation and pressing.

The nearby olive groves are located in Loutropoli of Thermi which is one of the most renowned regions of quality olive oil production in the world, though the company we'll visit is not in the same location as the olive groves. To finish the day you'll have some free time in Mytilini town to make the most of your free time for shopping or perhaps to grab some lunch.

De reisleidster weet veel over het eiland en de achtergrond van het eiland te vertellen, zonder de informatie op te lezen. Fijn dat ze ook ingaat op vragen die mensen hebben. De olijfoliefabriek was zeker het bezoek waard. Mooi om te zien dat een kleinschalig familiebedrijf zich zo handhaaft in deze tijd. Het bezoek aan Mytilini was de moeite waard. Tot slot complimenten aan de chauffeur die ons veilig over alle bochtige wegen wist te brengen. Dank voor de mooie ervaring.

Van te voren werd duidelijk aangegeven dat de fabriek niet actief is, omdat het olijf seizoen pas in oktober start. De reisleidster Anja was erg goed om de hele route met anekdote en interessante feitjes de this te vullen.

bezoek aan het olijfoliebedrijf was zeer interessant,fijne proeverij,fijne uitleg samen met onze gids Anja,onderweg ook zeer veel en interessante uitleg van Anja,een zeer fijne,aangename vrouw die zo boeiend kan vertellen over het eiland en zijn bewoners,zij houdt ervan met hart en ziel! Fantastisch bezoek aan het dorp Agiassos,zeer mooi om te zien! Mytilini vonden we iets minder,beter vertrekken thv het kasteel(busstop), was te druk, te chaotisch voor ons,winkelstraat niet mooi,veel leegstand

Le guide malgré la présence d’une dizaine de francophones n’a donné les explications qu’en néerlandais alors que le descriptif annonçait également l’anglais et le français. Par ailleurs il n’y a pas de visite aux thermes. Le descriptif est donc à revoir.
