Move to visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the world's oldest major stone structure located in Saqqara. In fact, Saqqara Necropolis is lying on a sea of Ancients Egyptian treasures and the discoveries have no end:
- On 3 October 2020, was announced the discovery of at least 59 sealed sarcophagi with mummies more than 2,600 years ago.
- On 19 October 2020, was announced the discovery of more than 2,500 years of colorful, sealed sarcophagi.
- In November, 2020, Archaeologists unearthed more than 100 delicately painted wooden coffins and 40 funeral statues.
Continue driving to the recent opened area for visitors called Dahshour that was also a royal necropolis and includes a the Bent Pyramid that was the first attempt at building a smooth sided pyramid, but proved to be an unsuccessful build due to the miscalculations made on the structural weight that was being placed onto the soft ground (sand, gravel, and clay), which had a tendency to subside, causing the angle of the pyramid to be off and achieving the name "the Bent Pyramid.
